    Objective

Practice 1v1 moves against a stationary defender to build confidence taking on real defenders.

    Setup

    1 defender cone, 2 escape-gate cones 3 yards each side, ball, 5-yard run-up.

    Instructions
    1. Place one cone as a defender, two cones 3 yards on either side as 'escape gates'
    2. Start 5 yards from defender cone with ball
    3. Approach at game speed and execute a move to beat the cone
    4. Accelerate through one of the escape gates
    5. Alternate moves: step-over, scissors, fake shot, shoulder drop
    6. Focus on the acceleration after the move - that's what beats real defenders
    What good looks like
    • Approach at game pace
    • Body sells the fake direction
    • Clean execution of the chosen move
    • Explosive acceleration through the escape gate
    Common mistakes
    • Approaching too slowly — defender doesn't have to commit
    • No fake before the move
    • No acceleration after the move
    • Same move every rep — predictable
