    Objective

Sharpen defensive lateral footwork so you can stay square to the ball-carrier.

    Setup

Speed ladder or 10 cones in a line.

    Instructions
    1. Set up ladder or cones in a line (2 feet spacing)
    2. Face sideways in defensive stance
    3. Shuffle through: two feet in each square, staying low
    4. Arms up in defensive position throughout
    5. At the end, immediately shuffle back the other direction
    6. Never cross your feet - quick, choppy steps only
    What good looks like
    • Quick, choppy steps through every box
    • Stay low — knees bent throughout
    • Hands up in defensive position
    • Reverse direction at the end without stopping
    Common mistakes
    • Crossing feet through the ladder
    • Standing tall — slow direction change
    • Hands at sides — no defensive shape
    • Stopping at the end instead of reversing direction
