    Elastico

A deceptive outside-to-inside snap with one foot that looks like you're going wide before the ball whips back inside. One of the hardest moves to learn — impossible to defend when clean.

    How to record this drill

Record 20–30 seconds showing 5–8 attempts. This is the scoring clip, not the full 20 minutes practice session.

3/4 close angle, camera waist height (~3–4 ft off the ground), 5–6 yards back — the outside-inside snap happens in a very small space; closer framing is needed to see the two foot contacts distinctly.

    Objective

The outside push loads the defender's weight shift; the inside snap reverses it instantly. Speed and tightness of the snap is everything — a slow Elastico is just two touches.

    Setup

One cone or passive partner as defender. Ball to the outside of your dominant foot.

    Instructions
    1. Set up with the ball to the outside of your right foot
    2. Push the ball OUTSIDE (right) with the outside of your right foot — the fake
    3. Instantly snap the ball back INSIDE (left) with the inside of the SAME right foot
    4. The two touches are so fast they look like one elastic movement
    5. Outside push must be short but crisp — convincing, not a full dribble
    6. Accelerate immediately after the inside snap
    7. Mirror: outside push with left foot, snap back right
    What good looks like
    • Outside push is a short, convincing flick — visible but not a full dribble
    • Inside snap immediately follows — looks like one elastic movement
    • Ball crosses inside with pace — not a roll
    • Exit acceleration instant after the snap
    Common mistakes
    • Outside push too big — becomes a dribble, not a fake
    • Pause between outside and inside touch — the snap must be instant
    • Inside snap too gentle — must whip back decisively
    • Different foot used for the snap — same foot performs both touches

How the AI scores this drill
Primary metric: Move Execution And Exit Quality

    Technique

    30%

The move is executed with the correct mechanics for this specific drill (foot path, contact point, timing). See per-move AI instructions for exactly what to look for.

    Deception

    20%

Shoulder/body fake sells the move — an imagined defender would realistically commit. Weight transfer is visible and deliberate. The fake precedes the exit.

    Ball Control

    20%

Ball stays within playing distance (1–2 yards max) throughout the move. Exit touch is controlled. No heavy touch that gives possession away.

    Explosive Exit

    20%

Acceleration in the first 3 steps after the move. Ball pushed into open space (not dead underfoot). Player body leans forward into the burst.

    Balance & Control

    10%

Low centre of gravity during the move. Stable body position — no stumble or lurch. Player is under control at the point of exit.
