    Objective

Catch high balls and crosses cleanly at the highest point with command of the box.

    Setup

Goal, gloves, partner crossing or throwing balls high.

    Instructions
    1. Have partner throw or cross balls above head height
    2. Form a 'W' shape with your hands (thumbs together)
    3. Time your jump to catch at the highest point
    4. Raise one knee for protection when claiming
    5. Secure ball to chest immediately after catching
    6. Call loudly 'KEEPER!' when claiming the ball
    What good looks like
    • Loud, early 'KEEPER' call
    • W-grip — thumbs together, fingers behind the ball
    • Catch at the highest point of the jump
    • Knee up for protection, ball secured to the chest on landing
    Common mistakes
    • Catching at chest height instead of attacking high
    • Hands flat instead of forming a 'W'
    • No vocal call — defenders unsure if to challenge
    • Spilling the ball back into the box
