    How to record this drill

Record 20–30 seconds showing 6–8 attempts, at least 3 each foot. This is the scoring clip, not the full 12-15 minutes practice session.

3/4 angle, camera waist height (~3–4 ft off the ground), 6–8 yards back — film from slightly ahead of the exit direction so the outside push and burst are visible.

    Objective

Push the ball outside to create separation — the most natural directional cut when going wide or protecting the ball from a pressuring defender.

    Setup

One cone as defender. Ball at feet. Space to the outside.

    Instructions
    1. Dribble toward the cone at pace
    2. Plant the opposite foot, lock your ankle, and point your toe slightly down
    3. Use the outside of your right foot to push the ball diagonally outward — away from your body line
    4. One decisive touch — no adjusting touch before you accelerate
    5. Follow the ball with your whole body instead of reaching with only your foot
    6. Explode immediately — the burst IS the move
    7. Ball placed 1-2 yards into space, not dead underfoot
    8. Mirror the move with your left foot, pushing outward to the left
    What good looks like
    • Ankle locked with the toe slightly down at contact
    • Single decisive outside-of-foot push — one touch only
    • Ball placed 1-2 yards outside — in space but not out of reach
    • Body accelerates immediately behind the ball
    • First 3 yards clearly faster than the approach
    Common mistakes
    • Multiple small touches instead of one decisive outside push
    • Hooking or chopping the ball across the body instead of pushing it outward
    • Ball runs too far — outside cut must stay in control
    • No body commitment — the upper body must follow the ball
    • Slow first step — the exit must be explosive

How the AI scores this drill
Primary metric: Move Execution And Exit Quality

    Technique

    30%

The move is executed with the correct mechanics for this specific drill (foot path, contact point, timing). See per-move AI instructions for exactly what to look for.

    Deception

    20%

Shoulder/body fake sells the move — an imagined defender would realistically commit. Weight transfer is visible and deliberate. The fake precedes the exit.

    Ball Control

    20%

Ball stays within playing distance (1–2 yards max) throughout the move. Exit touch is controlled. No heavy touch that gives possession away.

    Explosive Exit

    20%

Acceleration in the first 3 steps after the move. Ball pushed into open space (not dead underfoot). Player body leans forward into the burst.

    Balance & Control

    10%

Low centre of gravity during the move. Stable body position — no stumble or lurch. Player is under control at the point of exit.
