The best players make the ball do the work — receive with intent. Train the complete striker sequence: let the ball run past you, execute a named turn, one touch to set, then place the finish. Speed of turn and shot placement are the metrics — not power.

How to record this drill
Record 30–45 seconds showing 8–10 attempts. This is the scoring clip, not the full 15-20 minutes practice session.
3/4 angle behind and to one side of the player (not directly behind), camera eye level (~5–6 ft off the ground), 12–15 yards back — the receive, turn, and goal all visible in the same frame.

Execute the full receive → turn → set → finish sequence in 3 touches or fewer, with the shot on target — placement not power is the scoring standard.
Rebounder or wall behind the player, 10–12 yards from goal. Goal (or target) in front. 5 balls ready. Phone on a tripod, 3/4 angle at chest height — rebounder, full sequence (ball running past → turn → shot), and goal all in one frame.
Foundation
Slow feed — let ball roll past, execute drag-back, one touch set, shoot. 6 of 10 on target.
Form
Rebounder at normal pace — all three turn types attempted; 8 of 10 sequences completed without extra touch.
Tempo
Both directions: 5 reps left-turn, 5 right-turn; on-target percentage must be equal side to side.
Pressure
Weak foot set touch — right-foot turn but left-foot finish (and vice versa); 4 of 8 on target.
Match Rhythm
Passive defender behind you — turn must complete before they close; 8 of 10 on target.
Mastery
Live goalkeeper — must place ball into a corner; keeper decides where to stand after each sequence.
Close Control
Ball stays within playing distance, multiple touches per second, quick adjustments
Foot Surface Variety
Uses inside, outside, sole, and instep of both feet appropriately
Change Of Direction
Sharp cuts, turns, and direction changes while maintaining ball control
Game Tempo / Pace
Dribbling at match-realistic speed — not just technically clean, but fast enough that a defender would have to work
Head Up / Awareness
Scans field while dribbling, doesn't stare at ball constantly
