    How to record this drill

Record 20–30 seconds showing 5–8 attempts. This is the scoring clip, not the full 15 minutes practice session.

Side-on or 3/4 angle, camera eye level (~5–6 ft off the ground), 8–10 yards back — defender cone and full body in frame so the foot arc around the ball, shoulder lean, and exit direction are all clearly visible.

    Objective

Sell a fake direction convincingly enough that the defender shifts their weight, then accelerate the other way before they recover.

    Setup

One cone as defender 5 yards ahead. Ball at feet. 10 yards of run-up.

    Instructions
    1. Place a cone as your defender 5 yards in front
    2. Approach at game speed — the defender needs to think you're committing
    3. Circle your right foot around the ball (over and around the left side) while leaning slightly right
    4. Push the ball sharply to the LEFT with the outside of your left foot immediately after
    5. Explode past the cone — first 3 yards are everything
    6. Mirror: left foot circles, exit right
    7. Weak-foot reps count double — train both sides from day one
    What good looks like
    • Foot completes a full arc around the ball — over the top and around the far side
    • Shoulder and head dip in the fake direction as the foot circles
    • Exit touch pushes the ball 1-2 yards into space — not dead underfoot
    • First 3 steps after the touch are explosive
    Common mistakes
    • Foot clips the ball during the circle — step completely around it
    • No shoulder lean alongside the foot movement — defenders read the feet if the body doesn't sell it
    • Exit push too heavy — ball rolls away and the advantage is lost
    • Approaching the ball from too far — the circle must happen close to the ball

How the AI scores this drill
Primary metric: Move Execution And Exit Quality

    Technique

    30%

The move is executed with the correct mechanics for this specific drill (foot path, contact point, timing). See per-move AI instructions for exactly what to look for.

    Deception

    20%

Shoulder/body fake sells the move — an imagined defender would realistically commit. Weight transfer is visible and deliberate. The fake precedes the exit.

    Ball Control

    20%

Ball stays within playing distance (1–2 yards max) throughout the move. Exit touch is controlled. No heavy touch that gives possession away.

    Explosive Exit

    20%

Acceleration in the first 3 steps after the move. Ball pushed into open space (not dead underfoot). Player body leans forward into the burst.

    Balance & Control

    10%

Low centre of gravity during the move. Stable body position — no stumble or lurch. Player is under control at the point of exit.
