    Objective

Receive with your back to goal and turn cleanly to face forward in one motion.

    Setup

Partner or wall behind you, cone in front of you marking the 'goal' direction.

    Instructions
    1. Stand with your back to a cone representing the goal
    2. Have a partner pass the ball to you
    3. Control the ball and turn in one motion
    4. Accelerate toward the 'goal'
    5. Practice different turning techniques: Cruyff turn, drag-back, inside hook
    What good looks like
    • Half-turn body shape before the ball arrives
    • First touch wraps the ball around the standing leg
    • Eyes scan over the shoulder before receiving
    • Turn and acceleration happen in one motion
    Common mistakes
    • Receiving with feet square — no shape to turn
    • First touch too big, defender beats you to the next ball
    • Always turning the same direction (predictable)
    • Taking 3 touches when 1 would do
