Reduce duration or load. Add hip flexor stretching post-ruck. Tight hip flexors mean the stride is too short or the load is too heavy for current conditioning.
Usually a posture issue — rounding under load. Reduce weight, focus on tall posture. If persistent, pause rucking and address core stability first.
Normal in the first 1–2 weeks as the Achilles and calf adapt to loaded walking. Reduce duration briefly. Build back slowly.
Increase weight by 5 lbs or extend duration by 10 minutes. Rucking is only useful when it's challenging enough to produce adaptation.
