Do not wait until the player is hungry to decide where the next meal is coming from. Prepare fuel the same way you prepare cleats, uniform, shin guards, and water.

Pack in Layers
Keep shelf-stable carbohydrates in the bag all weekend. Add cold items on tournament morning. Put the first recovery snack where it is easy to reach, not underneath a full cooler and three jackets.
Pack at least one option the player can eat when appetite is low. Familiarity is a performance tool on busy days.
Make Room for the Next Match
A fuel bag is most useful when it connects to a timeline. Use the tournament day plan to decide what should be eaten when, and the hydration guide to choose what to carry.
